How to Import Contacts

Step 1: Prepare Your Spreadsheet

  1. Ensure that the data in the spreadsheet is clean.

  2. Verify that there is a single header row in the spreadsheet.

  3. Confirm that first name and last name are separated into two columns.

  4. Optionally, name the phone field "mobile."

  5. Format the phone number as desired (parentheses not necessary).

    NOTE: the headers in the spreadsheet will be generated as fields.

  6. Export the cleaned document as a CSV file.

Step 2: Import into ConveYour

  1. Open the ConveYour application and navigate to the Contacts page.

  2. Click on "Import Contacts."

  3. Select "Upload CSV."

  4. Choose and upload the CSV file.

  5. Check for matching fields: first_name, last_name, email, and mobile.

  6. Click "Next" in the top right corner.

  7. Review existing fields; new fields will appear if they do not exist already.

  8. Decide whether to bring in the value for new fields or skip them (crossed out if skipped).

  9. Click "Next" after verifying the contacts.

  10. Optionally add a tag; default is "import_" followed by the date.

  11. Click "Finish Import."

Step 3: Review Your Import

  1. Create a group based on the imported contacts or generated tags.

  2. Click "Refresh" in the top right corner to view the completed import of four contacts.

  3. Click on the newly generated group to view its details.

  4. Name the group (e.g., "Parks and Rec") and save it in the top right corner.

  5. Navigate back to the Contacts page to confirm the new contacts appear in the system.
