Group Creation, Filtering and Setup

Understanding Groups

If you're new to Groups and their role in ConveYour, check out Intro to Groups first.

Groups allow you to create subgroups of your contacts based on filters, which can be:

  • Contact Data Fields (e.g., company, region, hire date)

  • Contact Activity (e.g., course completion, poll responses, engagement scores)

While "learners" is a common term in ConveYour, not all users create courses. Think of Groups as a way to segment your contact list for targeted communication and automation.

Groups creation is basically creating a subgroup of your contacts based on Filters that you set. Filters are based on either Contact Data Fields or Contact Activity.

Sometimes we refer to contacts as "learners" but not everyone uses ConveYour to create courses, so as a more broad term, you are filtering your contact list into smaller subgroups.

  2. On the left-side panel, configure your group's settings:

Filtering by Contact Data Fields is the most common way to create groups. It allows you to segment contacts based on standard information in your contact list.

Example: Grouping by Company Name

  • You want to enroll only employees from "ACME Corp." into a follow-up program.

  • You set the filter: Company Name = "ACME".

  • Once created, you can add this group to a campaign or send targeted messages.
